Stuart Sklar has litigated hundreds of cases where fire and explosion origin, cause and responsibility were at issue, and is an internationally recognized expert in this highly specialized field.
Mr. Sklar is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI). He is the only attorney representing policy holders, and those injured or killed in fires and explosions appointed as a principal member of the National Fire Protection Association's Technical Committee on Fire Investigations, responsible for NFPA 921, Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations. Mr. Sklar was active in the development of the 2001, 2004 and 2008 editions of NFPA 921. Mr. Sklar is also a principal member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Investigator Professional Qualifications responsible for NFPA 1033, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Investigator.
Mr. Sklar has given expert testimony on fire scene investigation methodologies, and has testified before a subcommittee of the Michgan Legislature on pending insurance legislation. He is regularly asked to speak on fire litigation issues in the United States, Canada and England by groups such as:

He is a co founder of the International Symposia on Fire and Investigation Science and Technology (ISFI). ISFI is a biennial professional symposium specializing in the application of modern fire science and technology to fire investigations and analysis, and is designed to bring together fire investigation professionals from around the world to present and discuss the latest in fire investigation science, research, technology and methodology.
Mr. Sklar is a contributing author to the Michigan Causes of Action Formbook, published by the Michigan Institute for Continuing Legal Education, and has also authored articles on fire litigation issues. He was seleceted as a "Michigan Super Lawyer" in the 2006 and 2007 survey conducted by Law and Politics magazine.
